Audience feedback
This is the feedback I got on my Audience research:
Question 1:
• The target audience was young black people aged 16- 25
• Genre of music was hip and R&B
• For those that live in London

• Models are mostly black or Asian
• Hip Hop is portrayed influential to people
• I’ve only used a male genre

What I did today...
What I did today was start planing my contents page in InDesign , I started to do my contents page first so I know exactly what coverlines I want to put on my front cover and to avoid confusion when I start to do my front cover.

School Magazine : Audience feedback and evaluation
Audience feedback and evaluation
My magazine was a college magazine aimed for students in
Leyton Sixth form .It was called ‘LSC Weekly’ and it had features such as what
events will be happening in school, the jobs of the month and how to study
efficiently. I did these features as I was thinking of my target audience and
what will attract them especially as they are college students.
What went well?
What I feel went well for the school magazine was taking the
images for the front cover and the contents page, I feel this went well as I
had to think of positioning and lighting and what would attract the reader’s
attention. Another thing that I thought went well was the software’s (Photoshop
and InDesign) I feel as I used InDesign for my previous article work I
developed the skills that I have learnt from those past experiences and for
Photoshop I thought it went well even though it was my first time I learned new
skills. From the audience feedback that I gathered it shows that most people
thought I did well with the image as it was eye catching and colourful. They
also commented on the positioning of my image as it was a medium close up shot,
the image was of a student who is holding books and has on her student I.D card
I used this image as it show a picture of a “star” student. The feedback I also
got was that I used vibrant colours (Red, Blue) in my cover lines and my
masthead which was “How to study efficiently”, “Jobs of the month”, “Crosswords”
and my masthead was called “LSC WEEKLY”, making it more interesting to read.
What do I need to improve on?
The feedback I got from my blog was that I need to improve
on my main cover line which was “How to study efficiently” as it’s not clear as
to what is the main feature and what that magazine will be about. Also I got
feedback saying that the cover lines were too simple and that they were not
enticing the audience to read that particular magazine.
Three key points for development when producing the main
task
·
Learn more skills with the software (Photoshop,
InDesign) so I can do something different to other magazines
·
Research music magazines of that particular
genre so I can see what is a gap in the market and see I could feel that gap
·
Make my magazine interesting and to focus on my
target audience by adding more cover lines and also by making the cover lines
bigger.

This picture is for My front cover as I want to show a hardworking student who is into their books .
I took this picture outside by a tree because it give the picture a sort of freeness and can intice readers.
This picture is for my contents page, I used this picture because it shows a layout of the school and how open it is.
This picture is for my contents page also, I chose this picture because it also gives a guideline for new students and visitors what the reception looks like.
